Final Blog

In this blog, I will address what I have learned from this course and how I plan to use this knowledge to benefit my students and myself.

The 21st Century Life and Career Skills course taught me that there are many free tools on the internet that can help me make learning for my students much more fun, relevant, and engaging. The tools that I have been introduced to are: Jing, Blogger, Skype, Word Clouds, Voki/avator, Motivator, AnswerGarden, Wallwisher, Bubbl.us, Twitter, Facebook, Google Docs (documents, spreadsheets, presentations, forms), Google Calendar, Cloud Storage, and Google Earth. In the 2011-2012 school year, I plan to use all of the tools that I learned so I can improve my knowledge and skills using them and so I can find out which ones are best suited for my students and myself. I understand that this will be a huge undertaking, but I know that if I do not use the tools that I was introduced to, I will lose the knowledge that I have worked so hard to acquire these past two months. I am still a novice, but with the help of my peers, I hope to expand my world and communicate and collaborate with other professionals in my field especially staff members from the other HOPE Academies.

Thank you Garth, Mike, Tim, and Chuck Parsons for making this course possible for me to take.  I got a wealth of knowledge from it.  The video in the above link is for you.  Thank you.  Take care.  Goodbye.

  1. Thanks for the song. I really enjoyed looking over your blog and reading several posts. You have gotten the hang of blogging and learned some great tools to use with your students. Keep in touch and follow: teachersfortomorrow.net Garth@teachersfortomorrow.net
